What is RADON?

Radon is a tasteless, odorless, invisible, naturally occurring
radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of uranium in rocks and soil. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and is a proven carcinogen. When radon accumulates in indoor air, it poses an increased health risk of developing lung cancer.

How does RADON enter my home?

Radon enters buildings through cracks and seams in foundation walls and floors, and openings around floor drains, pipes and sump holes. All homes have some radon in them. Even the outside air has radon in it. The only way to protect you and your family from radon is to have your home tested to see if your radon levels exceed the EPA standards.

How do you test for RADON?

Testing for radon is very easy and inexpensive. A Closer Look Home Inspection is certified through the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and Environmental Solutions Association (ESA) to perform radon testing. I use a top of the line continuous radon monitor for faster and more accurate readings. Upon completion of the test, a report is produced with any information regarding further action.
